Wow, thanks for that Frank!
And, thanks for letting us know about the video. I had tried for years to find anything from this recording.
OMG! Sorry guys! I did post the wrong link! Andy has just posted the right one! I thought it was odd the response, as Vinnie is in quite a few frames and has a solo in the middle of one of the tunes where there is a drum cam posted! MY BAD! Sorry you had to watch the "other" video with all the lame pseudo/psycho-spiritual stuff!
On another note: Andy, I still love that quote you gave in another thread about what you try to answer when you play, regarding how you judge your performance. That I think is my most inspired quote that I still reference today. Thanks for saving my butt here!

Andy,
You're most welcome. Like I said at the top, I just stumbled upon this footage. You mention that you have been looking for stuff from this recording for a while. What is the story about this group? Actually, I also wanted to ask you about a band you played with that I saw on your website a while back: Undercover. Maybe you could PM me and we could talk about that too.
Actually, and this is for anyone, what is the story with what's happening with Michael Sembello now. His site is really nebulous (weird!) about what is happening now. Is it mostly production and the like or is he still putting out music?
I really liked the two albums that are in (or were in) the vault section. If you haven't looked there, at least find "One Planet," "Who Is," "Road To The Lonely" and "Rub The Stone." These have some great playing on them. Vinnie is on 1,2 and 4. I am almost sure that "Road" has Gregg on it because of the Songo groove at the end of that tune.
Anyway, hopefully everyone checks back and finds the right video!!

Thanks Frank!
I had trouble playing the video from the page, so here it is for those who want to save it to their hard drive.

Srry guys! Link doesn't seem to be working - something about a missing mp4 file
Oh.... my....god!
Frank, first off, thank you ever so much for posting this.
Secondly, this is some of the most beautiful music I've heard in a long time. I've always liked sembellos 'maniac' and it's the only tune I've ever heard from him, but wow, does this guy have a sweet voice. So soulful, and shades of michael mcdonald. The band is awesome, vinnie is doubly awesome and you can tell he's loving it from his beaming smiles. This is what it's all about, grooving to great music surrounded by fantastic musicians. I love the first tune in particular and also the slow intro to maniac.
None of it sounds that dated to me either, it's just so groovy. What is that ride vinnie's using? It's gorgeous and is obviously cutting through a loud gig too. Gonna be watching this a few times. The solo of course is amazing, one of the best I've heard vinnie play, so musical, so solid. His playing throughout is immaculate.
HOLY CRAP!!! THAT IS THE DUDE THAT WROTE AND PERFORMED "MANIAC"!? LMAO! I love that song
Guys, sorry to be ignorant but WHERE IS VINNIE?
EDIT: OK, saw the second clip

Michael Sembello is one of my favorite musician since his amazing work with Stevie Wonder (Song In The Key Of Life) or with The Jacksons (Destiny).
And his album "Bossa Nova Hotel" is a must have !!!
Vinnie is as usual incredible and so tasty, listen a song named "Cowboy", great.
It's with Nik Kershaw's "The Works" one of my favorite Vinnie's studio's work with singers.
And Carlos Vega (RIP) did of course a great job too, I think he plays some track with a Simmons drums.
Peace.
My girlfriend walked into the room and went "is that Santana?" - good question! I thought I was at the official Carlos Santana page when I followed the first link.
I think Vinnie got this gig because of his hair.

Rodge, upon your expert recommendation I will check out those albums!
